Philly Philly Philadelphia
Last Friday I went with my photo class and the art class at our school to a place in Philadelphia called Globe Dye Works. For those of you who don't know, Globe Dye Works was an old yarn dyeing company which became shut down and then bought by artists and is now studio space for many artists some being residential. Some areas, however, have not been renovated and are still run down and still have many things that were left behind. There were many types of artists here such as sculptors, painters, photographers, culinary artists, and more.

"Make Water Stains"
Throughout the course of the last week I have been exploring with the idea of "Make Water Stains". Water stains has many meanings such as the stain left on wood from the condensation of the glass or the writing on an image. I decided to take this further and not do just the basic water stains. I started with the thought of water and ways to stain water. I then proceeded with the idea of drops of food coloring in water and, after making a make shift light studio, these were the final products.

Homemade Camera Obscura
A few weeks ago I attempted to create a camera obscura (http://brightbytes.com/cosite/what.html for what it is). When creating it I brought my buddy Joe (the mannequin) and shined to image on his stomach. Despite the obscura not working, tree branches did shine onto Joe's stomach creating a nice image.
Fun fact: Nothing is more amusing than a 5'5" teenage girl home alone trying to put her brother's pajamas pants onto a 6'3" male mannequin.

Directions to Mourning Part 2
Sometimes I think I like a photo but then I realize it's not quite done.
This was one of those times.

Directions to Mourning
"It is dusk. A stranger is driving around the countryside utterly lost. Eventually he comes to a tiny inlet. The plce is deserted apart from a little man sitting on a rustic fence. The stranger winds his window down and asks for directions. The little man removes his peculiar battered hat, places it upside down between his knees, scratches his head, and without looking up begins.
'It's like this,' he says. 'You take the first right, the third left, the second right, pass over the bridge...and then you see...'"
